I liked the quote you mentioned ā€œKids do well if they canā€, i think it matters a lot whether the learners have enough or required tools to learn efficiently. Just like you mentioned that if you are not doing well, learn the skill set required, but I think having the proper support from instructors or peers can elevate our chances to learn that particular skill set sooner. I am very much inclined towards the social learning barrier, I still remember, back in 2020 when I took my first online course and whenever there was group work, I had numerous difficulties communicating effectively with my group. Having a safe and inclusive environment with a support system would have eliminated these problems.
